개요

자가용 면장을 취득하시게 되면 보통 FAA에서 규정한 맑은 날에만 비행을 하시게 됩니다. 만약 구름이나 안개등의 악천후에 비행을 하시려면 계기 비행면장을 추가로 취득하셔야 합니다.
계기 비행 이란, 악천후(구름속) 속에서도 비행기내의 계기만 의존하여 비행을 할 수 있는 훈련을 말합니다. 보통 구름 속에 들어가면 외부의 시계가 보이지 않아 비행기의 자세가 흐트러 져서 길을 잃거나 심하게는 비행기의 자세를 읽어 버리는 심각한 위험에 빠지게 될 수 있습니다. 계기 비행 훈련과정을 통해 이를 극복하실 수 있습니다.
취업을 위한 상업용 면장까지 준비하시는 분들께서는 계기 비행 면장 취득은 필수라고 말씀 드릴 수 있습니다. 또한 취미로 비행을 하시더라도 좀더 나은 안전 비행을 위해서는 계기비행 면장을 취득하시는 것을 권장하고 있습니다.
